"For God so LOVED the world, that He gave His ONLY begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting LIFE!" - John 3:16
Sorry for the Late Post

Happy 3:16 Day!
Happy 3:16 Day You GUYS! Christians ALL over the world are celebrating this beautiful day as a time of reflection on John 3:16!
MY STORY
I remember a few years ago, it was the week of my birthday! But it didn't start out as a good one! I felt alone, hurt, broken. I felt forgotten. Well, I had a meeting at my college, and no one was able to give me a ride, I was running late, AND hungry! So...I walked. And it wasn't pretty! I was exchanging some not so good words to God, telling Him how I felt. Not realizing I was speaking from a place of hurt, un-dealt emotions....and hunger. (I don't think hunger could justify tho. Lol.) As I reached my destination, my grandfather was there. (He's part of the group meeting.) I pulled up my chair happy there were still food left. He gave me this unique looking glass egg, and said it was a birthday gift from him and my grandmother. I didn't know what to think of it, but opened it. And it was a necklace with a bible, and as you open it up it reads John 3:16. I felt the peace and love of the Lord flow my heart like rivers of water! The Lord spoke and said these words, "Even though you can get sooo worldy sometimes, Jennifer, I STILL LOVE YOU!" I wanted to CRY!!!! One of my favorite Cherished moments!!! *
Reflection
It's awesome to Reflect on this scripture! God LOVES each and EVERY one of us that He gave up HIS Son, just so that in Him, we can be with Him for EVER! Back in the garden of Eden, when God FIRST created man, (Adam & Eve), we were purposed for relationship with Him. Adam and God walked and talked with each other in the garden! This is how it was meant to be the since the very beginning for you and I. That is, until satan came and Adam and Eve fell into temptation! Deceived! Which then separated man and God. I know Adam and Eve may had sorrow, but I believe God's heart was the one that was shattered the most. His MOST beloved creation that He created to love, and have relationship with. He knew all that Adam would be able to accomplish in life. He had this great plan!! But, He is so loving, that He allowed 'feel will' for man. (I won't go much into 'free will.')
Since sin entered into the picture through Adam #1, man has been trying to find out how to be reconnected to God. (of course, we'll never be satisfied outside of Him! Our purpose of being created is to be in communion/relationship with Him) God seen and KNEW that we were hopeless, lost, we needed a Shepard. He knew that with ALL our 'trying' we will never be able to reach Him. So He sent Adam # 2 in OUR PLACE!
I had a friend share something with me a few years ago that changed my WHOLE perception on this verse! God gave HIS ONLY Son! He didn't have back ups! We weren't even adopted into His sonship just yet! He gave His ONLY Son for a wretched person like you and I just so that we can be one in Him, again!
* This is so beautiful to me, because even though He is ALREADY in Heaven, on the Throne, with ALL the angels and creatures of Heaven, ALREADY praising Him, and glorifying Him, He STILL Desires us over HONOR so much, that He left His throne ( Yes, I believe in the Trinity. Jesus is God manifested in the Flesh. Check out John 1:1 and 1:14) JUST so that you and I will have relationship with HIM, again! So He came to walk this earth so that we will know how to live this life in Him. He came to bring us back to our original purpose in Him! So that in Him, we are reconnected to our Father with no work on our part, once more!
Not Condemnation, but Salvation!
"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemn, but he who does not believe is condemn already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. " - John 3:17-18
Sometimes, in life, we look at ALL the wrong we're doing in life, and begin to question if He still loves us. We think that He is consistently judging us. (I fall victim to this at times in my life, too. You're not alone.) When in reality, we are judging ourselves, and feel that He is doing the same. Consistently sitting on His Throne shaking His head in disapproval. But, if we look at John 3:17-18, we see that in reality, He's not judging us, always shaking His head in disappointment. That's not His purpose for coming! He didn't come to judge us (because we were already condemn before He stepped onto the earth), but to SAVE us! To bring us back into FULL relationship with Himself again! Walk with Him AGAIN, talk with Him AGAIN, see Him AGAIN! (More will be expounded on this in a future post.) Don't you just LOVE God!
#Challenge!
Today, I challenge you to do your own reflection of John 3:16 and then share your faith with at least ONE person in your day today and tomorrow! (Or sometime this week, considering this late post! lol)

ReplyDeletei know!! I couldnt believe I just found about it!! Apparently it's been happening for years! Lol
DeleteWhen I think of John 3:16 I am humbled that God would love me enough to want to sacrifice his only son for me. A man who was so innocent, but willing to be the perfect sacrifice to atone for my sin. I couldn't put my daughter on the cross, but God did it for me.
ReplyDeleteYes! Just to know that He loves us so much that He was willing to shift heaven and earth to bring us back to unity with Him, again! Love it!! Thanks for stopping by!
