WORSHIP WEDNESDAY!

WELCOME

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome to this NEW segment on YOGURLJENNY! I am so excited for you to join me in this journey! Many of you that know me either from FB(facebook) or in person, knows that other than Intimacy, Worship is a passionate topic in my heart! There has been so much that the Lord has downloaded in my spirit (revealed) over time within this topic and I am so excited to share it with you! 

WORSHIP WEDNESDAY

Every Wednesday, there will be a post in regards to worship! What is worship? What does it look like? How does it feel? How do you worship? Ok, so maybe not as literal as these questions are spelled out, such as how does it feel! But, there will be some deep discussions between you and I. 

  

SAY WHAT?! 

What if I told you worship is NOT the lifting of the hands, the dancing, shouting, singing, etc. But that it is so much MORE! Ok, now before you throw your computer screaming, "Lies, Lies I tell ya! " (haha), take a deep breath, pause, and lend me your ear for second of from where I'm coming from.

IT'S A RESPONSE

Worship is the heart's response to God! The clapping of the hands, shouting Hallelujahs, sweating out ya' perm, stomping out your shoes (did I go over board here?) are just the outward EXPRESSIONS of what is taking place on the INSIDE. Worship is where we connect/or commune with God in the secret places of our hearts! How we LIVE our lives is a FORM of worship! (I'll go deeper into this in a future post!) So, to sum it all up, we ARE worship!

WE ARE WORSHIPERS

We are worshipers. We were created for Him. We were created for relationship with HIM! We were created to worship.....HIM, and Him alone! The sad part of this beautiful story? After the fall of man in the garden of Eden (Adam & Eve), man has lost their sight of their true original purpose for which they were created. And since the fall of man, man (at times)has become successfully deceived to worship other things than God. That is the goal of satan. To get as many as he can separated from the One and ONLY TRUE Living God! And how does he begin to do this? With distraction! He knows that he is exposed and defeated in the presence of the Lord. In fact, he knows he is defeated already. He knows one only needs to think on God's goodness, meditate on His truth, and focus on the Lord to fully encounter their Father's presence...

ENCOUNTER

 Worship sets us up for personal encounters with the Lord. One day in particular, during worship at my church, we were singing a spontaneous worship song. The atmosphere was so thick with His glory. And then it happened. A personal encounter. I was in heaven, and I was standing with other saints in white robes. They were so tall and all in front of me! But, I could see exactly what they were seeing: the Throne of God. We were all singing in unison! Jesus spoke to me and pointed out that the exact spot I was standing was carved out for ME! This was MY SPOT, and MY PURPOSE....TO WORSHIP! And then I'm back in my body, at church. Tears drenched my cheeks. As I had come to, the Lord revealed to my heart that I was so focused on the wrong things. I became distracted, and that my ultimate purpose on earth was to WORSHIP Him!

As you play the video below, I want you to begin to think and meditate on the Lord, His goodness, His mercy and grace. Allow your heart to be opened and RESPOND to His glory! Don't try to understand what is happening, but let it! The spirit of darkness cannot stand in the presence of the Lord! Let God fill you with His glory, presence, and love in this time! Let Him shelter you. As your heart begins to open and receive Him, share with Him your heart!  The truth! Be transparent! There is power in transparency in the Lord. Remember in John 4:24 that Jesus said that He is looking for worshipers in Spirit and TRUTH! Truth translates to NOT HIDING ANYTHING! This is WORSHIP! THIS INTIMACY! Let the Lord move and bless you!!
