MUSIC MONDAY | BACK TO LIFE (ANTHONY EVANS)

MY STORY

It has been a very long time since I've heard any Anthony Evans' music. His new music none the less. After work one day I felt the Lord lead me to preview his new music on YouTube, and I am so glad that He did! I was in a hard growing season that time. Before listening to this song, the Lord had recently (very fresh at the time) revealed to me things I was facing that moment in my life. Post depression, loss of hope, anxiety, fear, and

the list could go on. 

Things Fell into Place
When I listened to this song for the first time, I felt like it was the PERFECT song that could verbalize the VERY season I was in. As I listened, I felt this surge of LIFE (the Lord's life) begin to spring up inside my spirit, heart, soul! I literally felt like I was COMING BACK TO LIFE! (No cliche here, but TRUE expression!) I was reminded of all that I had forgotten, peace filled my thoughts and heart, I felt joy and hope began to rise within me. It was the SPIRIT OF THE LORD breathing LIFE back into these dry bones! I felt fear leave, depression, anxiety, strongholds fled! I felt this warrior that was asleep become AWAKEN again! It was as if this little girl inside forgotten who she is and Who she belonged to, her Father, Abba, Daddy God! The Lion of Judah!!! The One who brought sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, speech to the mute, dance to the lame, joy for the depressed, healing for the hurt, truth for the confused, freedom for the captivity, and LIFE for the DEAD! 

>> A Declaration<<

 As the the song was playing, the second time around, I was singing as if I knew the lyrics perfectly (call it a gift I guess. I tend to quickly catch on to song lyrics.) But I wasn't singing just to be singing a song because I liked it, but more of singing a declaration unto my Lord. This became my FIGHT song, heart song. Sometimes, when faced with the temptation (or have fallen victim into temptation) of anxiety or fear the Lord will replay the bridge of that song in my ear as a reminder and to get my attention. It's not until after I sit, and quiet myself to hear the song He is playing out to me, that I begin to receive His Spirit of understanding. 

Example

One time, I was in a situation that had left me with the result of  fear and confusion, and I kept hearing the song play in the back of my mind. As I began to sing it out loud, 

"Resentment, depression, 

and all anxiety,

They have no power over me!

Addiction, strong holds

and every disease,

They have no power over me!"

It wasn't until in that moment that I realized that I had believed a lie somewhere in that situation, and needed to sit at His feet and exchange it for His truth! After getting up from that place of surrender, I stepped into His victory, which became my victory in Him. I am victorious, because He is victorious and my victory, and He lives inside of me. I was no longer over taken by those thoughts, emotions that once held me captive. 

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Are you currently in a state of hopelessness? Depression? Anxiety? My prayer is that you, too, will become reminded of the power of the Lord Who is ALIVE and living and roaring inside you. That you, too, will find the freedom and filled with His Spirit's fresh fire in your in your heart and your mind. I pray that a TRUE  revival will begin to take place and cause a complete transformation in your soul, heart, mind, and spirit, and that you will remember your TRUE identity in Him as a son or daughter. That you will remember Who He is in your LIFE! It is my prayer that you will no longer identify yourself with that brokenness or depression, but that instead you will rise up in the victory you have within Jesus, and walk into the fullness of Who He has called you since the beginning of time: HIS CHILD!  ..   

Let Him Speak

There is so much I would love to share with you, but I want to leave room for Holy Spirit to speak to YOU personally as you listen to this song and allow it to become your own declaration before the Lord.
