Can Home really Be Where the Heart Is?

As I was walking in the store, I noticed a wall art on sale that said the famous quote, "Home is where the Heart is." That quote had me thinking. Can home really be where the heart is? The following points explain where I stand with this quote. 

What's in a home?

A home can be looked at as a place of comfort. To some, it can be a place of solitary solitude. A place you can be free to be who you really are without the world's judgement or opinions. It's your comfort zone. Your home is YOUR COMFORT ZONE, or so to speak.

So many times, I have witnessed others, including myself, go back to the very comfort zones God has called or delivered us from. When dealing with a challenge or a season when everything doesn't look the way it should, we will have that tendency to fear, doubt, worry, freak out, go into an anxiety shock. [Whatever your IT is, place it here.....] We tend to fall in fear first, before we pray, praise, trust and worship. The complete opposite! Why? We know the truth. We've seen Him pull us out and come through for everything. We know what His word says, so why do we often refer to doubt before falling onto our knees in trust?! It's because we have found our comfort in our fears, doubts. We have found comfort in our FLESH! 

GOD is Our Home

But wait a minute! Isn't God is our home, right? We are to trust in Him, and Him only, not how things will work themselves out. He's our refuge, our Comfort. Holy Spirit is our Comforter [John 14:16 (KJV) ] GOD IS OUR COMFORT! He is the COMFORT ZONE! If He is the Comfort Zone, why aren't we living out this truth in our daily lives?

There's a Disconnection

It's hard to live a truth in our lives when there seems to be a disconnect. So where is this disconnection? There's a disconnect from us KNOWING the truth, and actually BELIEVING the truth. Knowing the truth and BELIEVING a lie results in fear, doubt, anxiety, worry, and confusion. We know that confusion's author is NOT God, but the enemy. When we fall into fear or confusion etc, it's because we are believing the very lie from satan that everything is wrong and not going according to plan, and God will not show up. But we have SEEN God come through EVERY TIME in our lives, as well as the needs of others. We even see it in His Word how He has ALWAYS been faithful and such a good Father. In fact, in Jeremiah 29:11 He says how He thinks nothing but GOOD thoughts towards us, and how He has a plan for our lives. But everyday as a situation presents itself, the enemy including our flesh will try to whisper, "Where is your God now?".   Knowing the truth is one thing, but BELIEVING the lies are keeping us from living out the truth of the Lord being the home of our heart!

Heart Check is Needed

If home is where the the heart is, and my go to comfort zone isn't God, then I need to do a heart check! "Please help my UNBELIEF" [ Mark 9: 23-25 (NKJV)] This has often been my favorite scripture and prayer to pray when I realize there's been a disconnection between my faith, knowing, and BELIEVING. When I pray this prayer, God will begin to open me up to things I haven't realized before. He will change my perspective, and undo all the layers of my heart, and show what is blocking my BELIEF, and why I fell so easy into believe the lies. This is what I call intimacy with the Lord. Have to Realize Who We Are

Let's go back for a second. HOME is when reality comes to play, and we are free to be ourselves!! FEAR is NOT who we are in the Lord. DOUBT is NOT in our DNA! LOVE, POWER, and a SOUND MIND, that's WHO WE ARE! [2 Timothy 1:7] We are loved, accepted, desired, approved. That's who our FATHER says we are. And you know what, I believe Him! 

We Were Deceived, so wait, this isn't my home?

Yes, I believe home is where the heart is, but sometimes we can find ourselves blindly kidnapped or living in a stranger's home, but because we have been there for so long, we got comfortable and tried to make that comfort a name for itself in our lives. Ever heard of the expression, "relax, put your feet up, and make yourself at home." Don't get confused! The enemy will try to confuse you with his lies to get you to call them "home". But in the very beginning we are already LOVED with a perfect home in heaven prepared for us.

Another Dropped Connection

What happened to our home? We lost connection to our home, because sin presented itself to offer greater which was only a mirage. It appears real, but really, it's far from reality. It's false. LIES. BUT it doesn't end there!

God is Our Comfort

God is our comfort, and He knew we needed Him, and sent Himself to be reconnected to Him! He brought life of abundance that only He can can give peace, comfort, love, understanding, and more!

 Our Response? : We Must Live from this Truth!

We need to LIVE from this truth. Live from the TRUE IDENTITY that we were created for and with. No longer do we fight for victory, but from victory! When a problem presents itself, PRAY, PRAISE, WORSHIP! Tell God everything how you feel, what you think etc. Lay EVERYTHING at His feet (intimacy). Ask Him to help you trust Him, and more. Just as you would a friend. He's closer than any brother! Read His Word out loud 3x over yourself everyday until you start believing and it's evident in your life.

Father, I pray you will release and free me from any lies that I have fallen suit to, and I pray you reveal those lies to my heart. In Jesus name, I pray You fill me with Your Spirit of Truth, love, peace and understanding. May You guide my hands and feet today, including my thoughts and emotions. Keep me in Your Presence dear, Lord. May Your voice be the voice that I am being led today. Help me to walk in the very Identity You have created me in. I pray Lord that You will help me guard my heart and emotions in You dear Lord, as the world and it's distractions can get crazy around me, Lord. I pray that if I ever get off course, that You will bring me to my knees before You always, reminding me of Your LOVE and Your thoughts toward Me. I love You, and praise You for loving me with PERFECT LOVE. Let Your will be done in My life. Let Your voice be so clear Lord, and help me to rise above the lies that are being spoken! Thank You Lord for triumphing over the enemy in my life Lord Jesus! I Love You and Praise You! Help praise and worship, even intimacy be my first RESPONSE when I come across anything that screams that I should worry. Help me to stand in faith and trust You, knowing that You alone are my Home! How I love You Lord! Thank You for loving me! I love You and Praise You! In Jesus Name, I love You and Praise You, AMEN!
